How this site remembers you
This page explains how as-salaam.co.uk uses cookies when you visit our review portal about Fatpirate. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. It helps the site recognise you on return visits and remember choices you made previously. Cookies make browsing smoother, but they do collect some information about how you use the site.
We are an independent information portal, not a gambling operator. The cookies described here relate only to your use of as-salaam.co.uk – not to any account you may hold with the operator itself.
The analytics question
We use cookies for three main purposes: to keep the site working, to understand how visitors navigate our pages, and to show relevant content. The first category is essential; the others require your consent under UK data protection law.
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session management, security, load balancing | Session or up to 24 hours |
| Analytics | Traffic analysis, page performance, user journeys | Up to 2 years |
| Marketing | Affiliate tracking, ad personalisation | Up to 13 months |
| Preference | Language, layout choices | Up to 1 year |
Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site cannot function without them. All other categories appear in the consent banner when you first arrive, and you can accept or decline each group individually.
Scripts we do not control
Some cookies on this site come from third-party services we integrate – analytics platforms, advertising networks, and content-delivery providers. These organisations set their own cookies when you load a page that includes their script. We do not have access to the data those cookies collect, and each provider operates under its own privacy policy.
Third-party cookies most commonly encountered here include Google Analytics (traffic measurement) and affiliate-network tracking pixels. If you accept marketing cookies in the banner, those trackers become active. If you decline them, only strictly necessary cookies are set.
Affiliate disclosure
When you click through to the operator's site from as-salaam.co.uk, an affiliate cookie may be placed to record that referral. This does not affect the price you pay or the terms you receive – it simply allows us to earn a commission if you register and play. The tracking cookie is set by the affiliate network, not by us, and expires according to that network's own schedule.
Your options
You control which cookies are set. The consent banner appears on your first visit and records your choices for future sessions. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's cookie storage or adjusting the settings within the banner when it reappears.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. The exact steps differ slightly, but the principle is the same across all of them:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Choose "Block third-party cookies" or "Block all cookies".
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Select "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" or use strict tracking protection.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Block all cookies, or selectively remove stored cookies under "Manage Website Data".
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Blocking all cookies will prevent some features from working – you may need to log in repeatedly, and layout preferences will not be saved. Blocking third-party cookies alone usually has no impact on core site functions.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" header with every request. This site does not respond to that signal automatically, because there is no industry-wide standard for how to honour it. Instead, we rely on the consent banner and your browser's own cookie controls.
Revisions
We may update this cookie policy from time to time – typically when we add a new third-party service or change how analytics data is collected. The date at the foot of this page shows when the policy was last revised. Continued use of as-salaam.co.uk after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Significant changes – such as introducing a new category of cookie or a new data processor – will be highlighted in the consent banner when you next visit, giving you the chance to review and adjust your preferences.
Questions
If you have any concerns about how this site uses cookies, or if you would like more detail about a specific tracker, write to the editorial team at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
